Why Take Online Drivers Education in Nevada?

Earn a Driver's License: The Nevada DMV requires minors between the ages of 15 and 17 to fulfill 30 hours of driver's education and 50 hours of in-car driver training in order to apply for a Nevada driver license.

NV DMV Approved Course

Is this Course Nevada Approved?

Yes! This online course is fully approved by the State of Nevada to meet the Department of Motor Vehicles drivers education requirements.

How Online Drivers Ed Works?

Work at Your Own Pace: Our course has 8 clear chapters that will help students absorb all the information the NV DMV requires in a 30-hour drivers education course. Students can log in and out as they choose and work around their schedule. Take the course anytime and from anywhere, there is no classroom to attend.

Steps for Completing Nevada Driver Ed Requirement

  1. If you are 15 to 17 years old, register online anywhere you have a computer and web access.
  2. Complete the online course material at your own pace. Start and stop as often as you need.
  3. Receive your certificate of completion in the mail as proof you have met the driver education requirement. (Keep this proof of completion in a safe place. You will need to show this certificate when you apply for your NV drivers license.)
  4. Prepare for the permit test by taking our complimentary 50 question DMV practice test.
  5. Once you are 15½ years of age you will be able to take your driver's permit exam at the DMV.

Application for Your Nevada Driver Permit and License

Nevada teens 15½-17 can apply for a driver's permit at your local NV DMV. You will need to provide proof of your identity, usually your birth certificate and social security card. You will also need two forms: Driver's License or Identification Card Application (DMV 002) and Minor Affidavit and Information Sheet (DLD-38). These forms need to be signed by you and your parent in front of Authorized DMV Representative. You will need to pay the applicable DMV fees and then pass a vision test and the written Knowledge Test to receive an instruction (learner's) permit.

With your learner's permit in hand you will need to complete 50 hours of behind-the-wheel training with another licensed driver 21 years or older. 10 hours of your training must be done at night. A Beginning Driver Experience Log (DLD-130) will need be completed and signed by your parent/guardian. Once you are at least 16 and have held your permit for 6 months (without any at-fault accidents, moving violations or drug and/or alcohol convictions) you can apply for your full license. You will need to bring your Beginning Driver Experience Log along with your Instruction Permit, Proof of Identity, Drivers Education Certificate of Completion, a Vehicle with Registration and Insurance and your Parent/Guardian when you go to the DMV to take your Driving skills test.
