20-HOURS IN-CAR DRIVERS TRAINING
In addition to the basic 6-hours of behind-the-wheel training, we'll spend an extra 6 hours reinforcing and fine-tuning the basics through heavy repetition. We will spend the last 8 hours in the car focusing on freeway, canyon and evasive driving maneuvers. Keep in mind, that throughout the entire lesson, we'll discuss advanced defensive driving techniques which will help better prepare you for the challenges of driving on California's roadways.
Features of our 20-Hours In-Car Drivers Training Include:
20-Hour Lesson Breakdown:
(Level-1) 4 hours
Level 1 primarily consists of residential driving. If the student is advanced, then we can conduct the last half hour out in traffic. The main focus of these two lessons is to teach the student how to safely and correctly perform the following maneuvers:
Pre-Drive Inspection
Accelerate and Brake
Left and Right Hand Turns
Proper Lane Positioning
Traffic Checks
Curbside Parking, Reversing and Turnabouts
(Level-2) 4 hours
After briefly reviewing the Level 1 residential maneuvers on each of the next 2 lessons, we will teach the student how to safely and correctly perform the following maneuvers out in traffic:
Left and Right Hand Turns in Major Intersections
Lane Changes
Parallel Parking and all other Parking Maneuvers
Traffic Checks and Proper Space Cushions
Legal and Safe U-turns
(Level-3) 4 hours
After reviewing the fundamentals of Level 1 and Level 2 on each of the next 2 lessons, we will introduce safe driving strategies for the following advanced driving environments:
Intro to Freeway Driving
Legal and Safe U-turns
Finally, we will perform a practice DMV Drive Test.
(Level-4) 4 hours
Level 4 goes above and beyond the Basic California DMV Training Requirements. On these 2 lessons, we will focus primarily on developing freeway driving and emphasize the following:
Advanced Freeway Driving
Teach IPDE Defensive Driving Method
Commentary Driving
Emphasize Traffic Checks and Space Cushions
(Level -5) 4 hours
Level 5 largely focuses on canyon and evasive driving. The following is a brief outline of what we teach on the last 2 lessons:

Note: Student has the option of doing the first 6 hours in the Prius and the next 14 hours in the SUV or Prius.
